What your Membership Fee Covers
HRCAV Membership & Performance Cards
As a ‘riding’ member of the Berwick RC you automatically become a member of the HRCAV and as such you are entitled to one free full set of Performance Cards, these cards are used as proof of current membership and for grading at competitions. However should you get another horse you are required to obtain a new set of cards for this new combination. Each new card is $5 and is obtainable from the HRCAV Office. There is also a $5 replacement fee on lost cards.
Insurance
Part of your membership fee goes towards insurance, which is sourced by the HRCAV. You will be covered for both personal and public liability through the HRCAV. Insurance is compulsory for all riding club members. Insurance disclaimers MUST be signed each year on renewal of membership
It is strongly recommended that you hold current private Ambulance Insurance

General Information
Financial Year
The Berwick RC and HRCAV financial year runs from 1st November to 31st October each year. Membership fees are due by the end of October. Each year in the months leading up to membership renewal the upcoming financial year's membership fees (includes HRCAV fee & Insurance levy) will published in our Newsletter.
Rules & Regulations
Berwick Riding Club has adopted the rules and regulations of the HRCAV as contained in the HRCAV Manual, which is available for purchase and updated from time to time, from the HRCAV Administration Office or on-line at www.hrcav.com.au.
Level Assessment
Before competing at any official HRCAV event you must be level assessed. An official HRCAV Level Assessor can only carry out level assessment. The Club can advise you of the name of an assessor should you require one.
* Each horse/rider combination is assessed separately and each time you get a new horse you must be reassessed on that horse.

Newsletter
We produce an electronic Newsletter, distributed via e-mail, which informs our members of dates and instructors for Rallies, any changes to HRCAV rules, Club news and general information.

Chaff Chat
The HRCAV publishes a monthly newsletter, Chaff Chat, which contains updates and amendments to the HRCAV rules and regulations, notification, entry forms for upcoming official & unofficial events, reports from the Executive and various Sub-committees, points tables and general news etc. Chaff Chat is available by subscription at the time of membership / renewal or by contacting the HRCAV direct.
